Pancreatic cancer originates in the tissues of the pancreas. It is one of the most aggressive and deadly cancers because symptoms often appear only in advanced stages.

Adenocarcinoma (affecting exocrine glands) is the most common type. Risk factors include smoking, diabetes, obesity, and family history.
